... has over 25 years of dance training and experience, and has been dancing professionally for television and film. Her love for dance, movement and fitness led her to create Airborne Performance Academy.
Dancing has always been a passion for Jenese since she began her journey as a performer at age three. She is classically trained, but has also enjoyed the opportunities to study and perform all different styles of dance, with her over 25 years of dance experience. These styles include, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin styles, and Irish jigging (Riverdance). Jenese is also the creator of her own style called, “SazzPop”©.
Always just in front of the curve, Jenese started working as a choreographer at age 14. First, just helping her classmates prepare for local auditions and for University dance programs, and then began to handle choregraphy requests. Jenese was the Dance Captain for two different award-winning High School Show Choirs in Midlothian, VA. Her efforts helped both choirs to earn awards in Best Choreography and Best Show Design 3 years in a row. She was the youngest student ever to be given the role at that time. A few years later upon her graduation from Howard University, Jenese served as the Dance Coach for the University’s “Ooh La La!” Dance Team and was again the youngest Coach selected in the squad’s 30 year history.
Jenese continues to choreograph for local events, as well as, both private and class instruction. She also continues to dance professionally here in California, and has done so since moving from her hometown of Richmond, Virginia 5 years ago.
With her BFA in Electronic Studio Art, coupled with her studies in film school, along her eye for detail, Jenese’s skill set can also be used for
Artistic Direction for shows and performances.
Not only does Jenese live to dance, but she also loves developing the talents of others, helping them to reach their full potential as a performer. The famed Dancer and Choreographer, Martha Graham once said, “There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” This is one of Jenese’s favorite quotes to “live by” and she shares this idea with all her students, encouraging them to express what only could be expressed by them, and only them, through the medium of dance and movement.
